This week, CAMP at Hudson Yards is hosting a spooky—and safe—Halloween outing, a socially distanced, interactive trick-or-treating mystery adventure. Participating youngsters get a map and a “magic” RFID trick-or-treat bag that allows them to touchless-ly open 17 doors, located throughout The Shops and Public Square and Gardens. What’s on the other side of each one? That’s for them to find out. But by the time the adventure ends, they’ll also have cracked a mystery code that unlocks a special gifts at the CAMP store. Tickets, available here, are $30 for each trick-or-treater, through Sunday November 1st.
Afterwards, the whole family can wander The Shops, grabbing more sugary sweets at Dylan’s Candy Bar and Li-Lac Chocolates. If it’s a new fall outfit you’re looking for, head to H&M for their older siblings and any of the host of fashionable destinations for mom and dad. Or head back out to climb Vessel—it’s open and it’s free to all—and then snap some fall-themed photos at the haystack and pumpkin stand by the Backyard Cafe.
But wait, there’s more scariness in store: Backyard Big Screen is featuring a free Halloween Fright Fest in partnership with Tribeca Film Festival on Friday evening and all day Saturday. The showings, all first come, first serve: The Birds, Friday at 7 pm, Coraline, Saturday at noon, The Addams Family (1991) at 3 pm and Bride of Frankenstein at 6:30 pm.
And when you need a break from all the ghosts and goblins, stop by Battle of the Brews (through Sunday), or the Backyard Big Screen for live sports throughout the month.
