Make your mornings easier, by having your coffee prepped for the whole week. Blue Bottle Coffee, one of the amazing coffee offerings at Hudson Yards is known for their amazing pour-overs, and have tips for how you can prep your iced coffee for the ultimate summer morning brew.

What You’ll Need

  • Coffee grinder
  • Fine Mesh Sieve
  • Large pot with a lid
  • Large glass jar or nonreactive vessel

Ingredients

  • 340 grams of coffee grinds - Blue Bottle recommends their New Orleans–Style Iced Coffee Kit
  • Milk or dairy substitute of your choice, optional
  • Sweetener of your choice, optional

Instructions

  1. Grind 340 grams of coffee on a coarse setting. The grounds should be a bit coarser than the grind used for a French Press.
  2. In the pot, combine the ground coffee and 28g chicory with 2 quarts water and stir until the grounds are fully saturated. Cover and steep for 12 hours at room temperature.
  3. After 12 hours, the concentrate will be thick and viscous. Carefully pour it through a fine-mesh sieve into a glass jar or other nonreactive vessel. Serve at once or cover and refrigerate for up to 1 week.
  4. Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour in equal parts coffee concentrate and milk, or another dairy alternative. Sweeten to taste with simple syrup or preferred sweetener of your choosing.
